About Myself:

I received dual degrees of Bachelor of Computing, Computer Science and Bachelor of Engineering, Industrial System Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2016. I am currently pursuing the degree of Master of Science in Computer Vision (MSCV) in, Robotics Instiute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University.

My main research interest lie in 3D Vision, Geometry Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning.

Image Based Labeling System Using Wide Baseline Matching: Detecting Unique Features In a Scene

Extracting Unique Features of the same scene instead of Extracting good features like SIFT and SURF features will result in more robust correspondence matching for a wide baseline set up in some particular scenarios. The novelty of such approach is demonstrated in an application of an image based labellig system which by passes the full pipeline of pattern recogintion tasks using deep learning.

A Real Time Simulation Optimization Framework for Vessel Collision avoidance and the case of Singapore Strait, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems

Modelling of vessel trajectories and interaction in Singapore port is based on Machine Learning algorithms. Vessel dynamics could then be emulated using simulation via Agent Based Model. This model is further incorporated in a vessel collision detecion and avoidance procedure which is formulated as a multi-objective stochastic optimization problem.

Monocular SLAM

2016 Fall

A feature-based monocular SLAM system designed and implemented from scratch in C++, which includes tracking and mapping of key map points. The system pipeline consists of the following steps: initial triangulation by eight point algorithm and RANSAC, data association refinement by Perspective-n-Point algorithm, mapping by bundle adjustment, and dense 3D reconstruciton with depth measurement.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Violin and NUSSO:

I am a violinist and I started at an age of 6. Though amateur, I enjoy playing music with a group of friends. Having been in National University of Singapore Symphony Orchestra (NUSSO) for 4 years, I have got acquainted with a great group of friends who are also enthusiasitic about both classic and pop music.

NUS GDG:

In NUS Games Development Group (NUS GDG), we create games with a group of friends who are enthusiastic about game design. We have annual events like GAME-CRAFT: a 24 hour game creation hackathon for students who are interested in creating games in Singapore. As logistics officer, I often manage these activities and the weekly meetings that we have in GDG.
